Help Secure Ontario’s Future – and Your Finances.
Solar PV lets you earn secure, guaranteed income for the next 20 years by generating clean electricity through roof mounted solar panels and selling that electricity to your local electrical utility.
What is the microFIT program
To help Ontario reach its goal of eliminating dependency on coal-fueled energy, the Ontario Power Authority has created the microFIT (Feed In Tariff) program, which is currently offering 20-year contracts for residential rooftop solar installations.
You will be guaranteed a rate for the next 20 years, and working with GreenSaver ensures you’ll receive quality professional service every step of the way.
We will pay for half the cost of your installation!
For a limited time GreenSaver will pay for half the installed project cost. You pay for the remaining half but own the system outright.
The microFIT revenue, based on the projected RETScreen* amount, is shared equally between you and Greensaver for a period of 10 years of the 20 year OPA microFIT contract.
After 10 years you become the sole beneficiary of all microFIT revenue
as well as the solar PV system.
What will it cost me?
Based on a typical size system, with an installation cost of $40,000.00,
GreenSaver would cover half the cost or approximately $20,000.
The remaining ammount can be paid by you upfront or can be financed.
As an example, if financing at a 6% interest rate the monthly costs to borrow $20,000.00 are as follows:
- $15,000 financed at 6% for : 10 year term – $222.04/month
- $15,000 financed at 6% for : 20 year term – $143.29/month
How much can I earn?
The projected microFIT revenue for the above system would be approximately $340/month. This amount would be shared for the first 10 years and then the full amount would be directed to the homeowner.
| Return On Investment | |
| Customer Investment | $20,000.00 |
| MicroFIT contract rate ($/kWh): | $0.65 |
| Average Income/year: | $4,073.00 |
| Total Income over 20 year contract: | $81,465.00 |
| System Payback (years): | 5.0 |
Both the GreenSaver & microFIT contracts are transferrable if the home is sold. After the 20 year OPA microFIT contract is over, and should microFIT no longer be an option, the generated electricity may be fed directly into your home instead of to the grid.
I don’t know if I qualify, can you still help?
If you’re not approved for the OPA microFIT program we can determine whether your home is a suitable candidate and guide you through the process should you be interested in pursuing this offer or other GreenSaver solar services.
How do I know if my home is a good fit for solar?
Our passion is helping homeowners find hassle free ways to go green. When you call GreenSaver, one of our qualified Solar Associates will visit your home to explain the process and provide a rough estimate of expected income for the term of the 20-year contract. This is a free, no-obligation consultation.
If you decide to proceed, we take care of all work, from permits and applications, to system design and installation.
